Nanyang Yahekou Power Generation Co., Ltd.

The Yahekou Power Plant Project is a national key project with a planned capacity of 3.1 million kW. The first phase of the project is 2 × 350MW coal-fired generating units. It is a national "Ninth Five-Year Plan" key project with mixed loans from the Spanish government and major equipment provided by Spain. The total investment is 5.192 billion yuan, of which foreign capital is 0.3718 billion US dollars and domestic capital is 2.106 billion yuan, the project is built by Henan Construction Investment Corporation, Henan Electric Power Company and Nanyang Yongsheng Investment Co., Ltd. at 55%, 30% and 15%. Construction began on December 15, 1994.

The boiler of the power plant adopts the technology of French STEIN company and the W-type flame, subcritical, intermediate reheat and controlled circulation drum furnace produced by Spanish B & W company. The turbo-generator unit is a product of ABB Company of Switzerland, which is a sub-critical, intermediate reheat, three-cylinder double-exhaust single-shaft condensing reaction turbine; the generator adopts static excitation and water-hydrogen-hydrogen cooling mode. The unit control system adopts ABB's Procontrol-p distributed control system, which has a high level of automation.

The two units were put into commercial operation in November 1998 and June 1999 respectively. The equipment is running in good condition, and the unit has formed a safe, economic, stable and full capacity. Its completion has greatly alleviated the situation of power shortage in southwestern Henan, improved the layout of power points in Henan, and greatly improved the safety and reliability of system power supply.
